Christmas Greetings Cards
Christmas greetings cards are not just pieces of paper; they hold great value both for their senders as well as recipients. For senders, the Christmas greetings card is a nice way to keep in touch with their old buddies and relatives. For the recipients, the greetings card reminds them that the sender hasn’t forgotten about them and are awaiting their presence. As you can see, celebrating Christmas without these paper cards is simply not possible.
Contrary to what you might be thinking, greetings cards are not pass, not even in the age of internet. Christmas greetings cards offer an affordable way to keep in touch with your friends and relatives. You can even keep in touch to your distant friends with whom you seldom get an opportunity to meet otherwise! A greetings card would remind your near and dear ones of how much you love and care about them and that you haven’t forgotten about them even without staying in touch.
You can either buy blank greetings cards and personalize them with your own pictures, signature, and a handwritten note; in fact, Christmas cards with family-photos are becoming increasingly popular among the masses. Or you can buy those ready-made greetings cards that are no less appealing than personalized cards.
If you are going to buy ready-made greetings cards for Christmas, I recommend you buy them in sets of twelve or twenty, as you can save some money that way. Also, when you are buying cards in sets, you have the choice to buy all cards of the same design, or get cards with a variety of designs, ranging from spiritual, traditional to the more modern and even offending.
I usually go for the single-design cards, but if you are going to follow the second option, stay away from ‘offending’ cards. Christmas is all about making others happy, not offending them!
Most of these cards would come in a postcard style rather than the standard greetings card style; that is, they would be printed on one side and won’t fold over! However, I would still recommend that you put the card in an envelope before dispatching it, so as to protect the photos that you have pasted on your card from any kind of damage!
Many feel that it is a bit impersonal to send just a card in an envelope, which is why they also send a long letter detailing the ways in which the family plans to celebrate Christmas in the current year. That way, the recipient not only becomes happy on receiving the card with family photo, but also gets to learn a bit about the family of the sender.
With the advent of internet, more and more people are taking to ecards, because they are free and convenient to send. In my opinion however, nothing can replace the spirit and emotion of a paper greetings card. This year, be sure to send one to your friend to assure him of your love!
